The following four blog entries are comprised of segments of an interview I conducted with Gregory White, the Chief of Staff and General Counsel for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation.
I found the interview very interesting and informative, as we discussed programs such as the Commonwealth's outstanding program designed to protect consumers who are planning to hire a contractor / other specialist to do home renovations or repairs, and how if you register with the Consumer Affairs Office, and use one of the approved tradespeople in the program, there are some real protections against shoddy workmanship or scams.
We also discussed the kinds of most common consumer scams, as well as contributions and how to make donations to legit organizations. Hope you enjoy!
